Envirothon
Being a part of the Maine Association of Conservation Districts we assist with the Maine Envirothon. A high school environmental science competition. Teams consist of 3-5 students and a teacher to lead them. They are tasked with solving real and current problems in the areas of - Aquatics, Forestry, Soil, Wildlife, and an annual natural resource issue. For more info go to the Maine Envirothon Website

Nate Pennell: District Manager
​
Nate has lived most of his life in Washington County and has served as the District Manager since 1983. During this time he has been involved in countless efforts to conserve Washington County's natural resources, from native fish habitat to blueberry farming.
Matt Kelley: Conservation Technician
​
Matt grew up in the mid-coast area working on his family's chicken farm from a young age and always enjoying the outdoors. After attending UMM for 4 years and finding a great appreciation for Washington County's natural resources he was hired in an apprenticeship type role working with Nate.
